Mexican Little Girls Mexican Costume Embroidered Blouse n Skirt Poplin - Perfect For Little Girls, Kids - Machine Embroidered, Cotton Polyester Fabric
This Michoacan style little girl dress (blouse and skirt) is made by women in communities near Mexico city. Michoacan is the state of Mexico where Purepechas have lived for a long time, in the land around Lake Patzcuaro. Women use sophisticated clothing: A skirt with a pattern, a long blouse with embroidery at the bottom and around the neck, a belt strapped on the back, and usually a rebozo.
Blouses with more embroidery are used in special celebrations. Aprons are also typically used and they also have nice cross stitch embroidery decoration. This dress is made with traditional colors, and captured the lively and vibrant spirit of Mexican culture. We are working with co-ops of women that work together to make pieces of art using their available time at home to embroider and woven.
We support the indigenous families of Mexico empowering them to earn a stable income and providing a window to the world for their products with a fair trade price. Using our product you are sharing the story of women in Mexico whose hearts and dreams are carried in this piece.
